What we do

GLADA Women's Voices - Key
Messages
We believe - Women affected by alcohol and drugs should play an
active part in the development and delivery of policies and
services that affect their lives in order to help ensure that
services are accessible and take into account women's individual
needs. Drug services don't need to be everything to every woman,
but they do need to be able to reflect, develop, innovate, partner,
and collaborate with women in order to find the right solutions and
improve women's options.
Drug and alcohol services
should:
Consider the needs of the woman's children and families right from
the point of assessment
Include outreach /inreach and advocacy services as an essential
component in reaching vulnerable women and girls
Provide sustained aftercare services in education,
employment opportunities and support
Work in partnership with other health services
including mental health, rape and domestic violence
agencies
