Violence Against Women and Girls
Creating your approach
8 July, London
This training and consultancy package will equip the participating
local authority to produce a well-structured and workable local
violence against women and girls (VAWG) strategy.
Three half-day sessions will equip
participants with the tools and knowledge to produce a VAWG
strategy, including the use of data, how to maximise survivor
involvement and exploring diversity issues as a key element of
creating an effective approach. Practical guidance will help
participants to create an effective strategy by building upon
existing strategies, incorporating existing work in the authority
and encompassing survivors' views.
In addition to learning how to
develop an effective VAWG strategy, participants will be supported
to create a structured implementation plan. Participants will
examine the key elements of implementation including, how to
achieve buy-in from key members of staff, create the structures
required for effective delivery and ensure that the work is
monitored and evaluated.
As part of the package, AVA will
work with the delegates to support the strategy development process
and provide detailed feedback on the resulting VAWG strategy.
