This questionnaire is part of a research project focusing on
financial exclusion and intimate partner violence. Do debt and
money worries contribute to (or even play a causal role in)
domestic abuse? Do debt and money worries deter victims from
exiting abusive relationships? In attempting to reach preliminary
answers to these questions, the study aims to explore the role of
financial hardship, exclusion and dependency in abusive
relationships.
As experienced providers of support to survivors of intimate
partner violence, your answers will help us to investigate how the
existing provision of financial advice and support to victims of
intimate partner violence might be developed. For instance, through
identifying patterns of difficulties that impact abuse, the project
will contribute to the development of best practice in addressing
these patterns and difficulties. The researchers are based at the
Universities of Southampton, Roehampton and Kent. If you have any
questions about the study, please do not hesitate to contact
us.
