learners an overview of the main areas of learning needed to work
effectively with survivors and perpetrators of domestic and/or
sexual violence. This will contribute to your personal and
professional development. Local commissioners of services are
increasingly looking for evidence that staff are appropriately
qualified and suitable to support survivors at all levels of
risk.

into contact with survivors or perpetrators of domestic and sexual
violence, who may also be affected by problematic substance
use.
The course is designed for professionals who have had previous
training, or equivalent work experience, with the overlapping
issues of domestic/sexual violence and substance use. Staff who
would benefit from this training include those working in the
following sectors: sexual and domestic violence, mental health,
substance use, dual diagnosis.
How is the course assessed?
Learners will be assessed by
various methods including written assignments, group discussions
