Domestic Violence – Theory and Practice Level 2: for the drug/alcohol sector
Course
description
This course will build on learning
undertaken in the Domestic Violence Theory and Practice Level 1
training, by focusing in-depth on domestic violence risk management
and safety planning within the context of drug and alcohol
services.
Learning objectives
- Assess the level of risk associated service users' experiences
of domestic violence
- Apply risk management strategies, including developing safety
plans with survivors
- Explain your responsibilities in relation to child protection
and safeguarding of vulnerable adults
- Review your agency's information sharing protocols
- Examine ways of improving your agency's response to domestic
violence, including through developing multi-agency
approaches.
Who should
attend?
This course is suitable for both
front line practitioners and managers who work in the drug and
alcohol sector. Delegates need to have had previous training on
domestic violence as this is a level 2 course.

NB. It is a requirement for this
course that participants have attended the Domestic Violence -
Theory and Practice Level 1 training or equivalent course from
