Promoting Good Partnerships: between the domestic violence and drug/alcohol sector
Course
description
This interactive and action packed
training session focuses on bringing together practitioners from
the drug, alcohol and domestic violence sectors to enhance
inter-agency working. Participants will be given the opportunity to
explore some of the beliefs they have about the 'other' sector and
gain a deeper insight into the importance of partnership working
for improving the outcomes for service users. This course can be
designed to incorporate exercises that focus on developing
multi-agency protocols or minimum practice standards.
Learning
objectives
- To understand the philosophies and working practices of
agencies working in the different sectors of substance misuse or
domestic violence
- To explore the service provision and referral routes into these
services
- To understand the benefits of a multi-agency approach for
meeting the needs of service users
- To explore what constitutes a good referral
- To develop a multi-agency policy (optional)
- To develop good practice standards (optional)
